Newborn Oral Care

Your new baby may not even have any teeth yet but this is an important time to initiate a good oral care routine. Newborn gums should be wiped with a moist cloth after feedings and before naps. Although cotton gauze can be used, I recommend a baby washcloth because they are super soft and easy to handle.

Always use clean hands and don't forget to wipe under the tongue and inside the cheek because this is where milk collects and bacteria like to hide. Good oral care is an essential part of caring for your newborn and following these steps will help keep her smile bright.
